Halloween Post #3: Shockers!

So what have the Directors of The Thing, Suspiria, American Werewolf In London, Re-Animator, Audition, Henry, May, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), The Stand, The Howling, House On Haunted Hill (1999), The Stuff and Phantasm got in common?

They are... The Masters Of Horror arrrgh!!!!!

Yes, amazingly John Carpenter, Dario Argento, John Landis, Stuart Gordon, Takashi Miike, John McNaughton, Lucky McKee, Tobe Hooper, Mick Garris, Joe Dante, William Malone, Larry Cohen and Don Coscarelli have all been brought together to make 13 one-hour films for the new Masters Of Horror anthology series. With some great writers like Clive Barker, H.P. Lovecraft, Richard Matheson, Joe R Lansdale and David J Schow providing the stories this sounds very promising indeed.

The first story Incident On and Off A Mountain Road, directed by Don Coscarelli, has just aired on Showtime Cable in the States. A young woman driving at night, crashes on a remote road and then has to face a deformed and demented serial killer all alone. I'm glad the show's producers didn't wimp out - This is probably the most intense and gruesome piece of TV I've ever seen! And it's fun too! The next story to look forward to is Dreams in the Witch House, directed by Stuart Gordon.
