It's Time To Quit Dreaming...

And Get On The Beam.

Bill Nelson's classic Mercury label albums of the early 80's have just been re-released on CD.

Quit Dreaming And Get On The Beam

This was going to be Nelson's second Red Noise album. However, whilst it sat unreleased in EMI's vaults, Bill put out a solo single 'Do You Dream In Colour?' on his own Cocteau label. Mercury then picked up the album and it reached number 7 in the UK charts.

Quit Dreaming is the record that brought me in touch with Bill Nelson's universe and I've be admiring his song writing skill and quite extraordinary musical ability ever since.

The Love That Whirls (Diary Of A Thinking Heart)

A radical departure from the style of QDAGOTB and it heads into more electronic territory. The songs are more romantic and erotically charged. Featuring the wonderful October Man, The Love That Whirls is up at the top of my all-time album list.

Chimera

A fantastic pop mini-album that saw Bill writing songs based around drum patterns supplied by YMO's Yukihiro Takahashi. Featuring Acceleration and Another Day, Another Ray Of Hope.

If you've got any of the above on CD already then throw them away and buy these new remastered versions. Original artwork, bonus tracks and liner notes complete the great packaging. Essential.
