Keeping The World Divided
From www.greenonred.net
The original lineup return to the London Astoria to honor their commitment to the show they cancelled nearly 20 years ago...."It started in a hot, dusty, two bit shack, 928 Tenth Street, right by the railroad track." Yeah well, that ain't how it ended. Athens Greece, May 13, 1987, The Killer Inside Me Tour. Five years of incessant touring has taken it's toll. Throwing a now priceless Gretsch Chet Atkins up in the air, Dan Stuart watches it shatter into a million pieces mirroring his own fragile psyche. Chris Cacavas, Jack Waterson and Chuck Prophet can only shake their heads and mutter in disgust. The final show at London's Astoria Theatre scheduled for May 15 will be cancelled after a shrink certifies that the singer is insane. Whether his condition is temporary or chronic only time will tell. A very long time.
This coming January 10th, 2006, Green On Red will attempt to finish what seemed impossible nearly twenty years ago. The original band* will gather at the London Astoria to finish the tour that had almost destroyed them. Gathered from the four corners of the globe, Humpty Dumpty will be back on stage playing the exact set list from 1987. If successful, the band is contemplating gigs at La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, The City of Hue in Vietnam, and the proposed Hard Rock Cafe at Ground Zero. The band is hoping that the general public will be inspired to finish assorted garden projects, get that elusive college degree, or finally learn how to drive a stick shift. We all have our demons, Green on Red cordially invites you to help them face down the past and come away with an earful of courage and fortitude... just what this Brave New World requires. Cheers!
*Jim Bogios will take the place of drummer Alex MacNicol who has passed away. "Big Dog" will be sadly missed by all.
Great! Can't wait. Hold on a second... Shit I've lost my ticket!!!
