Monster!! Monster!!

Best film of the year so far has got to be Monster House 3D. A good scary laugh for kids and adults alike.


The 3D animation is astonishing; It's not gratuitous with things poking out of the screen all the time, it's an amazingly detailed 3D world that draws you in. Old Red/Green style 3D movies were pretty much guaranteed to do my head in. Thankfully though technology has marched on; No eyestrain or headache this time. Only occasionally did I notice some on-screen blurring. On the whole the picture was very sharp and, for a Computer Graphics animated feature, it felt almost lifelike... except I've never seen a Monster House in real life!

The script is tight and funny and has the feel of an old kids gang scary mystery like The Monster Club, Goonies or Explorers. Kudos to Spielberg, Zemeckis and most of all to director Gil Kenan for making such an entertaining movie. See the 3D version of this film now!
