When The New World Is Revealed
Last night I was in cold, wet Belfast to catch the last date of the Seeger Sessions Tour. It was a great fun finale to a great tour.
(Belfast Telegraph Review, BBC News Story)
Back in the spring when Bruce Springsteen announced that he was going to release an album consisting old folk songs (previously championed by Pete Seeger) I almost choked and internally cried 'Noooooooooooo!'. It has turned out however that the resultant tour has been anything but a finger in the ear folk tour. The band's performances have been simply astonishing, growing more and more confident with every show. A Springsteen band member doesn't just have to know how to play, they have to be theatrically expressive and able to take the spotlight at any moment.
The signs are that the band will return in some fashion in a couple of years time. After the swansong of the E Street Band next year?
