Out with the old...

Progress. Or is it? In this ever-changing world in which we live in are things really changing? If so, then are these changes for the good? This could spark a deep philosophical debate about humankind and our environment but wait a minute, let's step back, think smaller and look at what really matters...

Today I've been told that the following will make my life better; 1) a 'new improved recipe' Beef Broth soup, 2) 'improved Jam' in my chocolate mini-rolls and 3) a new England football kit made from the 'latest in clothing technology'.

Well, I've always quite liked the Beef Broth soup and Chocolate mini-rolls with jam that have allegedly been 'improved', so this afternoon I tried out the 'new' versions . Perhaps there might be some sort of delayed experience that I'll feel later on tonight but to me they tasted exactly the same as they did before. No progress here. What these brands really need to come up with is a 'new improved recipe with added orgasm'. That would be progress.

Do I want to buy a new England football kit? No. It's less than a year since the last new one was announced! Is the 'old' one so bad technologically speaking that they have to replace it already? No. Will the new one make me a better player? No.

Until there is real progress in the little things in life then there won't be any progress towards a better world on a larger scale.
