An American Filmmaker In London

Yesterday John Landis gave an entertaining free Q&A session as part of Sci-Fi-London's Cine-excess strand. The director provided us with hilarious anecdotes about The Blues Brothers, Animal House, An American Werewolf In London and Oscar. He also talked about his recent work on The Masters Of Horror cable TV series - his episode Family was one of my favourites of the second season.

The Q&A took place at the Apollo cinema in Lower Regent Street. Before it started we were shown the sequence from American Werewolf where the Werewolf causes mayhem in Piccadilly Circus - just outside of where we were sitting. A nice touch.

Landis is very engaging and so enthusiastic about his work. Once he had started talking it was hard for the organisers to get him to stop. Sadly the Q&A was limited to just an hour, it would have been great if it were two (or three!).
