Philadelphia Special

Yesterday in Philly... I made a slow start and took a train to the suburb of Manayunk. It's a nice place for lunch; There's a smart main street lined with restaurants, bars and trinket shops, and a pleasant canal towpath walk for some exercise.

I had to head back into the city by 3 though in order to get my General Admission lottery wristband for the Springsteen show in the evening. I got band number 808 out of 1000, thankfully the draw was favourable and I made it into the pit.

Wow, what a show! My 65th in the last 22 years and this one was up in the premier league. Watching the 2 guitar/sax/violin jam on Thundercrack from just a few yards away was tremendous. Photo by Tim Gray (more).

It's now Sunday morning and I'm still on a high as I prepare for my Greyhound bus leg to NYC.

Update: Thanks to 'cricket' on BTX here's a nice pic taken from behind the stage. Hey, I can see myself in the crowd. Look, there I am!
