Dover Soul
"I've got many rivers to cross
But I can't seem to find my way over
Wandering I am lost
As I travel along the white cliffs of Dover"
I'm sure that Jimmy Cliff was singing about being lost emotionally and spiritually rather than being physically lost walking along the Saxon Way north of Dover harbour. Land to the left, English Channel to the right - it's easy!
Taking advantage of the current sunshine, I drove down through Kent to visit Dover, a place where I've only been previously to catch a Ferry to France or Belgium. On Friday, whilst people were relaxing on the town's pebbly beach, I was busy exploring Dover Castle and its 'Secret' war time tunnels. And yesterday I took in some fresh air, walking along the lovely National Trust managed coastline. Beautiful weather, nice views, plenty of invigorating exercise - all good for the body, mind and soul.
