This family drama contains images of a fictional hurricane and its aftermath. Due to recent events, viewers may be sensitive to some of the following images.

And so opens the U.S. TV pilot episode of Invasion just 3 weeks after Hurricane Katrina and 3 days before Rita is about to hit the Gulf Coast. Talk about timing. The scenes of the storm are astonishing and as gripping as the airplane crash in Lost. Here a town in Florida is hit and the impact on the viewer is magnified by memory of recent events.

Now what if the hurricane was in fact a smokescreen obscuring the start of an Alien invasion? Seen strange lights landing in water of the Everglades? Is the Sheriff acting strangely? Or are you just being paranoid?

Invasion looks like being another take on The Invasion Of The Body Snatchers but if it continues to be this good then it is a welcome one.
