What Do You Want From Life?

Yesterday I was browsing through two travel guides, planning a trip to Arizona and San Francisco. After spending half the day trying to figure out flights and hotels I slumped down on the sofa for a break. Sitting on top of my unwatched DVDs pile was The Tubes Wild West Show. I slipped it into the slot.

Beki Bondage says 'Don't Touch Me There'Despite being a fan of The Tubes for donkey's years somehow I've always managed to miss seeing them play live. So it's nice to see this fine 2004 concert from the Shepherd's Bush Empire, London.

Being a Western themed show, the band start with some Morricone and Ghost Riders In The Sky.

It's Gumby! Then Fee Waybill appears. My first thought was "God he's looking a bit old and saggy these days" and "he's dancing like my Dad". True, everyone is heading towards a free bus pass but these guys are still playing fantastically and Fee's voice has never sounded better.

WPODAt over two hours this show is great value for money. A few new songs are played but it's the old 'hits' and Fee's fun theatricality that the audience wants to see. She's A Beauty, Don't Want To Wait, TV Is King, Talk To Ya Later and White Punks On Dope are all here.

Mondo BondageOK, off with the bondage gear, I really must get back to searching for hotels on Expedia.

Did you know that The Tubes originally came from Arizona before moving to... San Francisco?
