The first 24 minutes of the long awaited A Scanner Darkly are available to watch online @ IGN

Richard Linklater's adaptation of the Philip K Dick psychoactive drug sci-fi novel is nearly here.

It should hopefully be reaching multiplexes soon. I say hopefully as it seems to have been ages (years?) since the trailer first appeared. The film was shot in live action but then painted over and animated. An extremely time consuming process. Add to this the extensive drug references and odd Dickian dialogue and I'm sure it must have been a hard sell to movie execs.



I suspect that when people get to see the movie, Dick fans and paranoid schizophrenics will love it. Everyone else will go 'WTF?!!'
